GM and Ford Aim at 2012 Comeback

2011 was a tough year for automakers. General Motors’, American leading automaker company, stocks have dropped down by 50% from its higher position of $39.48. Current PE is barely 4.3 with EPS of 4.5.

Fluctuating market along with recession caused an unusual hike in gas price that affected automotive market decreasing its sale rate.

However, company totally depended on its SUVs and trucks and hence it is expecting 2012 to be a good year.

Not only GM but Ford, another US based Automaker Company, also suffered recession by loosing its stock from $18.97 high. And Ford is also expecting 2011 to be a good year for their sales and credit division, same as GM.

Ford is running strong in its sales side but credit division is performing poor compared to last year.

Nissan and Ford Issue New Recalls

Ford motors has announced that it is recalling almost 20,000 F-Series pickup units in order to put back brake transmission switch, and mean while Nissan is also recalling almost 28,000 Jukes over the problems of ignition.

With 2011 F-150, 2012 F-250, F-450, F-350, and F-550, company has recalled almost 16,091 trucks in US. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace brake transmission switch. Another 4,000 vehicles are recalled outside US. Company is not going to sale any of the recalled trucks before inspecting.

2011 Juke has been recalled to fix sensor bracket associated to the inlet tube and almost 28,294 vehicles are recalled. If the problem persists, vehicle may stall at the time of idling and in few occasions it may not restart.

Ford Decided to Invest 128 Million for its Ohio Assembly Plant!

America’s well-know multinational automaker, Ford Motors Corp has decided to invest nearly 128 million at the Ohio Production Plant.

The company has decided to shift the production of its two medium-duty pickup truck lines from Mexico to Ohio Assembly Plant by 2014, and with this the company is planning to bring back the trucks to U.S.

The four-year agreement signed between the carmaker and UAW has triggered the company to take a positive move. So, in order to prepare the Ohio facility for the production of the F-650 and F-750 in near future, the company is spending nearly 128 million at its U.S production plant.

It is expected that nearly 1,400 new job positions will be generated at the Ohio plant to the region.

Ford India Sales Shot Up by 12 % in October

Ford India, Indian subsidiary of US based most important car maker, has registered overall sales surge of 12.01 % at the time of 2011 October. Company has sold almost 10,906 units in October when compared to the 9,737 units in the previous month.

In the domestic market, company has sold 8,091 units when compared to the 9,026 units in the same month of 2010. There is a decline in sales in the domestic market. Figo compact hatchback is the largest contributor in the whole company’s sales.

In the period of 2011 January to 2011 October, company sold a total number of 1, 01,439 units compared to last year’s 77,324 units, accounting sales surge of 31.19 %.
