Ahead of its official unveiling at Detroit Motor Show; spy shots of new 2012 Shelby GT500 Convertible are available online. The 2013 model gets similar visual updates as its coupe version.
The updates also come in form of a supercharged 5.8 L engine that can deliver almost 650hp with torsion of 600 pound-feet. Amazing performance figures reminds us of its competitor Camaro ZL1, which only comes with 580 horses.
The 580 hp engine is teamed to a 6-speed manual dual-clutch transmission. We expect that the new convertible version will share the similar vital statistics. The vehicle is anticipated to get released in the year 2011; however it’s getting exhibited at the Detroit Auto show.
